AlertBoston

AlertBoston is the City of Boston’s opt-in emergency alert and notification system to let residents know when a major emergency is happening and how to stay safe.

About AlertBoston

Sign up to receive emergency alerts by phone, text, email, and/or mobile alerts (compatible with TDD/TTY devices for those with hearing impairments). Alerts are available in the 11 most-spoken languages in Boston.

Your privacy, time, and attention are important to us. We'll never share your information with other organizations, and we don’t spam. You’ll only receive an alert for incidents where the public’s safety is at risk, e.g., severe weather,  a significant hazardous materials incident, active threats, etc.

To manage your AlertBoston account or update your password, visit the AlertBoston portal

Once you sign up, you should receive a confirmation text or email. For voice alerts, we’ll call the phone number that you give us. We'll leave a message on your voicemail if you don't answer. If you decide not to sign up, you may still receive alerts on your landline number if it's publicly listed through the City’s emergency notification system.
