Sail Boston 2017

The City will host Sail Boston 2017 from Saturday, June 17, to Thursday, June 22.

Boston is an official port of the Rendez-Vous 2017 Tall Ships Regatta. The trans-Atlantic regatta will start in Royal Greenwich, UK. From there the fleet will race to Sines, Portugal, followed by Bermuda. The fleet will then race to Boston, for Sail Boston 2017. From Boston, the fleet will cruise in company north to Quebec City, Canada.

  • Keep in mind

    The City of Boston will host Sail Boston 2017 from Saturday, June 17, to Thursday, June 22. Ships will dock in the South Boston Waterfront, Downtown Waterfront, and Charlestown.

    Sail Boston 2017 is privately organized and supported by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, City of Boston, Massport, and the U.S. Coast Guard.

    • Public boarding of ships is free and open to the public.
    • The hours for public boarding are at the discretion of each ship’s Captain.
    • The traffic and parking restrictions listed on this page are subject to change. For the latest information, please check the Transportation Department's traffic advisory.
    Parade of Sail
    • The Sail Boston 2017 Parade of Sail takes place on Saturday, June 17, from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
    • The parade involves 50 ships sailing through Boston Harbor.
    • There will be stadium-style security screening in the area during the parade.

    Parade of Sail restrictions

    You aren't allowed to bring certain items to the Parade of Sail on Saturday, June 17. There also won't by any places where you can store bags. We listed what you can and can't bring below:
