Traffic Advisory in Boston for PGA U.S. Open Golf Tournament

Street closures and parking restrictions will be in effect in Boston from June 13 - 19.

The PGA US Open Golf Tournament will be happening at Brookline Country Club next week from June 13-19. People attending the US Open are encouraged not to drive their personal vehicles. Information on Bluebikes, the regional bike share service, may be found one the Bluebikes website.  Additionally, the MBTA has extended additional service and shuttles for this event as outlined below:

Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA)

“Taking the T” to designated MBTA stations will be the most sustainable and convenient way to get to the 2022 U.S. Open Championship. The T is committed to providing safe and comfortable transportation along their Subway, Commuter Rail and Bus lines. Fans are strongly encouraged to visit the MBTA website to plan their trip, view service schedules, identify station locations, parking availability, fares and to purchase special edition 1-day and/or 7-day CharlieCards featuring the U.S.

Open Trophy and The Country Club.

The USGA will provide complimentary shuttle transportation to and from the below stations and The Country Club:

  • ORANGE LINE – Forest Hills Station: Those traveling from the metro-Boston area or transferring from the Red or Blue lines, the Orange Line is the most efficient way to get to the U.S. Open. Championship shuttles will be in the upper bus terminal at Forest Hills Station.
  • GREEN LINE (B) – Boston College Station: Fans traveling within the Brookline and Fenway/Kenmore area and utilizing a (B) Line station are encouraged to use this option. Championship shuttles will be a short walk to the depot area adjacent to Boston College’s Alumni Stadium.
  • GREEN LINE (C) – Cleveland Circle Station: Fans traveling within the Brookline and Fenway/Kenmore area and utilizing a (C) Line station are encouraged to use this option. Championship shuttles will be located along Beacon Street near the Ayr Road intersection.
  • GREEN LINE (D) – Reservoir Station: Fans traveling from points west/northwest, the (D) line provides the most efficient service to the Cleveland Circle shuttle depot. Championship shuttles will be located along Beacon Street near the Ayr Road intersection.

The City of Boston Transportation Department is implementing parking restrictions on the following streets to reduce congestion and illegal parking:

Tow Zone No Stopping Boston Police Special Event June 15-19 signs on the following streets:

  • ALLENDALE STREET, Both sides, from Centre Street to the Brookline Town Line
  • POND STREET, Both sides, from the Arborway to the Brookline Town Line
  • AVON STREET, Both sides from Pond Street to Brookline Town Line

Additionally, both the Boston Transportation Department Parking Enforcement Officers and Tow Units will be assigned in the delimited area to enforce traffic and parking regulations as well as the Boston Police Department who will have Officers deployed to handle traffic control.
