The Boston Parks and Recreation Department will hold a virtual public hearing on Thursday, June 2, at 10 a.m. on a request to remove three public shade trees in Back Bay due to new construction at the site of the former Midtown Hotel building at the corner of Huntington Avenue and Cumberland Street.
The request is for the removal of one mulberry tree measuring 24 inches dbh (diameter at breast height) in the median strip opposite 220 Huntington Ave, one honey locust tree measuring 3 inches dbh on Cumberland Street, and one pear tree measuring 9 inches dbh on Cumberland Street.
The hearing will be held by the City of Boston’s Tree Warden (or designee). Please note: Due to the current pandemic the hearing will be a virtual meeting via ZOOM.
