Air Pollution Control Commission Rulemaking
Notice is hereby given that the Air Pollution Control Commission (APCC), under its authority pursuant to the Building Emissions Reduction and Disclosure Ordinance, Boston City Code, Ordinances, Chapter 7-.2.2, is developing regulations for reporting, data verification, and preservation of records.
Written comments on the first draft of Phase 1 regulations will be accepted until 5 p.m. on Friday, January 14, 2022. Comments can be submitted via this Google form. Questions can be directed to energyreporting@boston.gov or 617-635-3850. A virtual listening session will be held on Friday, January 7, from 12:00 - 1:30 p.m. to collect verbal feedback. Registration is required.
Following this initial informal comment period, a special hearing of the APCC will be held on January 19th to review public comments and determine next steps. Should the APCC deem appropriate, the first draft of Phase 1 regulations may be revised and a formal comment period on Phase 1 regulations of at least 21 days will be scheduled and noticed by the APCC.

Translation and sign language interpreters are available upon prior request. The Commission may hold a public meeting immediately following the last hearing or as appropriate following any hearing. Meeting materials may be requested via email from apcc@boston.gov or viewed by appointment at the Environment Department, Boston City Hall, Room 709, from 9 AM to 5 PM Monday through Friday.
