Connecting residents to careers in the Life Sciences.
The Life Sciences Workforce Development Initiative (LSWDI) aims to train and employ 1,000 Boston residents in life sciences careers by 2025. The LSWDI will support the growth of Boston's life sciences workforce. We're expanding access to career opportunities for underserved and underrepresented communities. As part of this effort, we're working in partnership with YearUp and MassBio. The Life Sciences Career Alliance will connect residents to education, job training, and career readiness opportunities. Our goal is to place residents in family-supporting jobs in the Life Sciences industry. Learn more about this work below.

Launched in 2024 by Year Up United and MassBio in partnership with the City of Boston, the Life Sciences Career Alliance brings together employers, training providers, and community partners to increase access to employment and propel industry growth. The Alliance provides companies with the tools, partnerships, and talent pipelines needed to retain and grow a resilient, inclusive workforce.
